Murungai keerai soup is one of the healthy soup suggested for all ages. Murungai keerai purifies blood and is rich in Iron, Calcium and Vitamin C. It is easy to make and can be taken twice in a week for better health.
PREPARATION TIME - 5 minutes
COOKING TIME - 15 minutes
INGREDIENTS: (Serves - 3 persons)
- Murungai keerai leaves - 2 hands full
- Small onions - 10 pieces
- Pepper corns/Melagu - 1 spoon
- Cumin seeds/Jeera - 1 spoon
- Chopped Ginger - 1 spoon
- Garlic cloves - 6 pieces
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 spoon
- Salt
- Water
DIRECTIONS:
1. Wash the murungai keerai well with water for 3-4 times and keep aside.
2. Get ready with all the ingredients.
3. Pressure cook all the ingredients (except salt ) with water in high flame for 2 whistles then simmer the flame and cook for 5 minutes.
4. Switch off the flame and allow it to cool.
5. Once cooled, strain and collect the water in a vessel.
6. Grind the residue to a smooth paste in a mixer, filter the residue and then add it to the collected water.
7. Boil it for 5 minutes along with the salt.
8. Spicy murungai keerai soup is ready, serve hot and enjoy!
